Region: Hilltops, NSW
Winemaker: Liz Jackson
Tasting Notes: Our 2019 Merlot is from the cool climate growing region of Hilltops, NSW, plum red in colour, the nose carries aromas of plums with varietal leafy notes. The palate is full of black olive, plum and earth tones, integrated with vanillan and charry oak giving the wine a lush mid palate whilst still retaining minerally textured tannins.
Dan Murphy's Wine Panel 2017 Vintage 91 points
"Here's a merlot that performs exactly as merlot should - soft and plush, sweet, ripe fruit, bright juicy and varietal with the added complexity of a deft touch of pepper spice."
Huon Hooke, The Real Review 2016 Vintage 90 Points.
"Medium- to full red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet is smoky and meaty, charcuterie-like and slightly funky, but clean; the palate sweet-fruited and lush, with fresh herb and sweet plum nuances. Its medium to full bodied and soft of tannin, with plushness and silky texture. Terrific value. 23/4/2018."
